About Tough Pet Gear
Friendly guides to tough toys and thoughtful gifts for dogs, cats and their people.
Tough Pet Gear is a small, independent site run by the Tough Pet Gear team. We started it for one reason: too many “indestructible” toys last about five minutes, and too many gift guides are just lists of whatever is trending.
How we pick products today
Right now, our guides are researched picks. We have not yet tested these products with our own pets, and we never say we have. To choose them we read:
- Manufacturer product pages, materials notes, size guides and guarantee terms
- Amazon listing details and customer questions
- Long-running owner discussions in dog and cat communities
- Roundups and reviews from established pet and product-review publications
We only recommend real products that are widely available, and we explain who each one is good for and what to watch out for.
Hands-on testing is coming
We plan to buy products ourselves and try them with our own pets. When we do, we’ll add our own photos and notes to each guide and update the picks. Until then, every guide says clearly that it’s researched, not tested.
What we don’t do
- No paid placements or sponsored rankings.
- No fake reviews, star ratings or made-up test results.
- No prices, because they change. Check Amazon for today’s price.
